Change comes not when some group of radical seizes power, that’s just a shift at the top. It comes when Mr. And Mrs. Ordinary make a stand. When the cake shop owner and teacher and the bearer boy come together and say, ‘They are not afraid,’ anymore.

Back in Ancient Greece, the 'torch relay' was an actual relay race rather than just a prelude to the Games: Who here thinks that reinstating that idea might be interesting?

No. I do think that teams should be allowed to plan their own route. Adds an extra dimension, I think. Shall we take the short-cut through Afghanistan and Tibet, or the northern by-pass through Russia? Choices, choices.

Could they go by boat? Imagine running along a speedy transport throough the Suez Canal into the Red Sea, along the Gulf of Aden, across the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal via the Polk Strait. A quick run up the Strait of Malacca and it's home free up the South China Sea.

Only by swimming...I'm still doubting whether rowing should be allowed.

Hey, isn't yachting still an event? It could be done via sail. I'm just looking at the five finalists for the 2016 games. three aren't too conducive toward running from Greece there
