NS2
#1
So, I was just thinking. With NS2 coming out in the coming weeks ... do we have any plans with regard to the region? While I understand that NS will still be active ... is anyone gong to convert? Should we consider something like that as a region?

I'm not sure if I'm going to convert, what with rt time constraints. I'll most likely reserve my nation's name, but after that, who knows

OK ... well, let me rephrase the question.Understanding we all have rl constraints and such ... I guess my question is ... whats going to happen to the region?Because while yes, NS will still be around, it'll basically just going to exist in a state of decay until it is eventually removed (Why join the original when you can have the upgrade?).Do we, as TSP, want to make a combined effort to move to NS2? Do we want to allow things to move along as they are now ... and see what happens? Or what?I know, I for one, while yes not having a lot of time, would like to see TSP - our version of TSP - moved into the new game. But that's just me ...

My suggestion is stay the course here then maybe 6 months into the new game we can re-evaluate based on what is happening then. In truth I have no plans for leaving TSP at this point or the futer at this time.

I see your point there Tsu...And it does need very careful consideration...I would have thought the best place to put this sort of discussion is before the entire membership in The Assembly...That way we can build up a picture of the feelings and intentions of everyone involved and make plans based on the back of that...I for one would favour moving TSP over into the realms of NS2...I would anticipate a period of parallel running for a time, and as htz3 suggests, reviewing this on an ongoing basis...From my understanding the gameplay will intrinsically remain the same as it is currently with the choice to purchase enhancements etc...I will probably explore the payment side and see what it offers...

Okay the one reason I suggested a wait and see is there would be many complications in trying to move. We don't know that the rules of the game will be the same. We are a feeder region here we have no idea if the same would hold true there. Let's face it our system might not work in a founded region because the founder would have final say in everything.

The concern I have with that, is -- what if there are new people in NS2's TSP?

We obviously can't throw them out ... or we'd be forced to join them ... and essentially our culture would get tossed.

Maybe we could somehow join the two? Thoughts?

We don't even know the rule changes if or how they will effect us. Our Constitution was designed to work within the rules of this game . We will have to wait to see the set up. If it is very close to what we have here we may have to opt for a founded region if we want to move at all.

NS2 is different in that sense that there is no Delegate and endorsements (see the information on Nationstates2.com ). We could form an NS2 alliance, which we could make subsidiary to the NS1 region, e.g., an additional task of the Delegate (or the PM) is head of the alliance in NS2, or something like that. -Tsrill

I got a NS2 invite today...
