It turned out that this took less time than I anticipated, and was more easily fixed than I thought.



The below is the proposed ammendment:



Quote:Article 5 - Treason



1.Treason against The South Pacific shall be defined as any violation of Article 2.3 by a Citizen Nation of The South Pacific.





2.Such an offence committed by any citizen nation of The South Pacific shall result, upon conviction in a trial in accordance with Article 7 of the Charter, in the immediate banishment of that citizen nation from The South Pacific off-site forums and region.





3.This provision shall be enforced by The South Pacific Assembly through appropriate legislation, as needed.

I was not sure whether to put in a clause that stipulated that an act against Article 2.3 by a non-citizen nation constituted an act of war and that nation then becomes an enemy combatant...?I think that is the real point of discussion here.

I think that is the real point of discussion here.
I think that would be needed... We cant call it "Treason", but an act of war against TSP cant go uncharged... And, I think that a trial would start once said nation/person applied for citizenship if they left before going thru our legal system...

You can't charge non-citizens for an act of war. It's just war, with a foreign power. That or they'll just ignore your charge, if they are making war against you.

No, but we would presumably want some way to punish them for their actions should they later enter TSP, ie; Frak/Hax/Anur.

But what if we don't know? We can'y legally remove their citizenship if they enter under a false name, get citizenship. and then fess up.

Add one point saying no player guilty of an act of war against TSP may become a citizen without an assembly vote; if someone fesses up, they can be booted for violating that.
