The link is to a list of companies who have comfirmed that their brands and products are not affected by a recall of various products linked to the Peanut Corporation of America. Brands NOT Affected by FDA Recall

You'd be surprised to find out who owns what.

Actually, I'm surprised that there are still so many on the list...I always thought that what's in the supermarket is dominated by 3 or 4 major players per product group...

Not necessarily. Gotta love mergers and corporate takeovers.

I'm a skeptic and secretly wonder if those niche players are not just another brand of a biggie
But to get back to the topic: I have always linked salmonella with chicken products (egg and meat). How on earth can you get chicken bacteria on peanuts???

That almost sounds like the old joke:

A. You don't get down from an elephant. You get down from a duck.
I'll look into the salmonella and peanut butter thing.

Pistachios now recalled in states...
Quote:CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Marketers and grocery stores are going nuts again, this time over pistachios.
Kraft and Kroger have issued recalls after discovering pistachio products tainted with salmonella. Although no one has been infected yet, this marks the second nut-related recall in about two months, and is likely to spell more doom and gloom for the entire category.
