1.  Have you previously held the position of administrator on a web forum?  If so, when, how long, and for what software?

 

 

Empires of Earth (phpbb2): January 2007 - 2011

Europeia (Invisionfree and then Zetaboards): March 2007 - Present

2.  Do you have knowledge of programming languages?
 

 

 

No.

 

3.  Do you have experience with HTML, CSS, and or JavaScript?
 

 

 

I've played with all three, but won't pretend to have a deep background. I can usually fix something that is broken.

 

4.  Do you have knowledge of IP addresses?
 

 

 

Yes.

 

5.  Have you ever been a moderator on our forum or another NS forum?  If so, have you had to moderate a difficult situation and what was the outcome?

 

 

One of the hardest situations I've encountered as an administrator were the porn spam attacks on Europeia in 2010. Making the calls on how to prevent / remove the pornography were a bit taxing, as I had to balance the needs of a community to grow with new members against the porn spam that we were being attacked with. Eventually our security measures and NS-wide condemnation resolved the situation.

6.  What is the most important part of being an administrator on a forum?

 

 

Having an understanding of your role on the team. What is your job? If there is a Chief Admin, how are you expected to report to them? What is your jurisdiction (because you can often do *anything* technically).

 

7.  Will you have a considerable amount of time to dedicate to administrative duties if selected?  When are you most free?

 

 

I might not be the most free applicant (especially when school starts up again) but I will be able to look for admin tasks or place input in discussions. I will inform everyone of any LOAs that may arise in a timely manner.

 

8.  If you are not selected to be an administrator are you open to being a Global Moderator?
