Legal Reform
#1
This is just an initial outline of where I think some focus should be. If people can comment on these areas, supply amendments, or add their own suggestions for areas of focus that would be great. I want a thread that focuses on the meat of reform, we can smack each other around in the other thread Tongue

My initial list (to amend and add based on suggestions)

Election Reform

Due to the Judiciary Overturn of the Election Reform, we are back to two very poor laws.

The Election Law - <a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=9492'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPaci...?showtopic=9492</a>

and

The Election Commission Law- <a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=9487'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPaci...?showtopic=9487</a>

In the Election Law link you can see the struck down amendment that I believe we should try to bring back in some fashion. Since Unibot will not bend in his interpretation, I believe the Charter should be amended to allow for a registration process before voting as outlined in the struck down amendment.

Security Council/Vice Delegate/Succession Reform

I think this needs to be one law, better worded, and give these people more power to take over when the delegate is MIA. Also, it should be made clear that the delegate can only hand over power to these people, and swapping nations with friends should be out of the question. The Security Council clause should be stripped from The Delegate Law (<a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=9852'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=9852</a>) and the VD Law repealed so a new law can be made.

Judicial Reform

I'm not sure about how this would happen but people have talked about it so I am putting it in here.

Laws that seem a bit odd/dated

<a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=9491'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPaci...?showtopic=9491</a>

<a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=7948'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPaci...?showtopic=7948</a>

I'm not aware of locked archives, so I don't understand the first. The second is hardly a law, seems more of a statement or admin note.

Also, this law (<a class='bbc_url' href='http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=7234'>http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/theSPacific/index.php?showtopic=7234</a>) seems highly dated and should simply be incorporated into the Election Reforms in my view.

The Charter Itself

We could also make serious amendments or changes to parts of the Charter, if anyone has suggestions.

The locked archives are BCD. Threads in that could be sensitive to current government so are not released for six months.See Bels recent attempt for disclosure on Foreign Affairs.

6th Month disclosure is a law I would not support getting rid of.
