The Dawning of a New Tomorrow
#1
Fellow South Pacificians, Lend me Your Ears!

It seems appropriate to start this last address to you with a cliche. After over two months, the Great Assembly has voted to remove the article of the charter giving authority to this post.

I stand on this eve, in support of such a measure. I believe that strong change needs a streamlined government, and that requires one person leading the region at the top. Rebuilding governments within feeders require small government, active government, but effective government.

For us to have effective government, we must all be effective citizens. We must all not take our positions as citizens for granted, we must work to make a difference.

As I leave this office, I do so with mixed feelings. There was some progress I made, some debated I enticed, but there were also many occasions real life held me back, or debate turned into argument.

I thank everyone for this opportunity to serve. I believe I have become a better listener because of the work I have done, and because of the people I have worked with.

It is my strong belief that the future, under a revised charter, will be stronger and more active than before. It is my belief that our best days lay far far far ahead. I leave this office with a calm heart, seeing the work put in by people of all walks of life. I thank you.

I also salute everyone who kept this office accountable, just as I salute the work I will continue on with as a citizen, and a damn proud one, of the South Pacific.

Yours,
