Quote:Palm Pre owners are ironically complaining that their smartphones don't have onscreen keyboards, a study by Strategy Analytics found today. Despite Palm having added the QWERTY keyboard in response to gripes about touch-only devices like the iPhone, many users want a software keyboard like Apple's, as Palm's design gives them no choice but to use the hardware solution. The opinion holds even for those who chose the Pre for the physical input, senior analyst Paul Brown says.

"Although users liked having a physical QWERTY keyboard, they did not want to have to slide it out every time they wanted to type something," he notes.

Adapting the design might be difficult for Palm, which designed the Pre and webOS with the assumption that a physical keyboard would be present and free up space onscreen for more data. The Eos may partially address the problem by including a fixed physical keyboard, although it should shrink the touchscreen as a consequence.
wah wah... i want both... if we give you both, then you complain about the price, and the locked deal with the cell phone company...

Change comes not when some group of radical seizes power, that’s just a shift at the top. It comes when Mr. And Mrs. Ordinary make a stand. When the cake shop owner and teacher and the bearer boy come together and say, ‘They are not afraid,’ anymore.

<a class='bbc_url' href='http://notalwaysright.com/why-contracts-are-a-gazillion-pages-long-part-2/3440'>Not Always Right</a> has a massive number of these suckers....

Quote:Customer: ?My phone is broken, but it?s only two months old. I need a replacement.?

Me: ?If your phone is less than 3 months old, I can give you a replacement today. Just let me have a look at it.?

Customer: ?Why do you need to see it? It doesn?t work, and I was told if it broke within 3 months I get a new phone straight away.?

Me: ?That?s right, but there are conditions, one being that the phone can?t have any liquid or physical damage. I need to check for that.?

Customer: ?Fine, here.?

(When I open up the phone, it stinks of alcohol.)

Me: ?Sorry, this smells like it has alcohol on it.?

Customer: ?Oh, well, I dropped it in the sink and I know you won?t fix it if it has water damage, but I didn?t have any ethylated spirits, so I soaked it in vodka for 2 days to dry it out.?

Me: ?You?ve just ruined your phone, and now I can?t give you another one.?

Customer: ?What?! This is ridiculous! You should be more specific when you sell phones! You need to tell people that they can?t soak it in vodka!?
