Bundesdeutschland and Lola Bunny
#1
The accounts of Bundesdeutschland and Lola Bunny have been banned after a vote of the admin team and detailed discussion on the forum rules on multiple accounts applying/receiving citizenship.

Bundesdeutschland previously gained citizenship under this account.  He has since attempted to gain citizenship with the Lola Bunny account, here.  When questioned he admitted to attempting to gain citizenship on multiple accounts.

Is the ban permanent?

Yes. The admin team discussed the possibility of a lesser punishment, but concluded that a permanent ban was the appropriate action. Citizenship carries a singular right; to vote. As such, any attempt to gain multiple citizenship's is an attempt to commit voter and electoral fraud. That has to be met with consistent harshness.

I just wanted to let you know that Bun asked me to share this with the administrators:

"I really feel like I violated everyone's trust and...

...well, I feel like I've violated my own Christian values and committed the very act that I once swore never to do. I'm seriously crying right now...what should I do???"

He asked me if he was banned from the RMB.

I'd like to suggest that anyone signing up for citizenship be given a clear message, a bit toughly worded, that multi-ing will result in a permanent ban.

I'm so sorry about this once again. In the case of Natan he was a bit troublesome but Bundesdeutchland was part of RP and was going to work on some role play guides.

Wouldn't it be easier to just deny the second citizenship request with a "Do it again and be banned?". Just seems kind of harsh, but again, I'm on a casino floor and just thinking out loud.

Speaking personally, not as an admin, I see no particular reason to ban him from the RMB if he would like to stick around, as he is not a regional security threat. This is an adminstrative forum ban, not a judicial regional ban - as such, it's up to Escade's discretion whether or not to let him remain, much as it was up to her discretion whether or not to let Natan return to TSP. There is an appeals process he can make use of if he likes, though in this case it would be unlikely to affect the outcome at this time. The last person to successfully appeal a forum ban was Punk Daddy, for reference.

I agree that this is regrettable, but he did break the rules. Just because people like him - most of the admins included - he doesn't get a free pass.

I should note that the appeal needs to be filed by someone else on his behalf and the link in the policies is no longer any good.  Appeals need to be started in the operation center for now and this process will be looked at soon.

I'm not banning him from the RMB, he's been punished it would be overkill.

I just noticed, after reading the appeals page, that the appeals form stated on that page appears to be broken.

I am aware of the appeals link being down.  The system that was used for appeals was accidentally deleted by the pesky lion guy.  I am mulling over an alternative as the previous way was buggy.  There will probably be a forum in this area for appeals.  In the meantime if an appeal is needed a thread can just be started here.

On the issue of Bundesdeutschland and Lola Bunny I am unbanning both accounts as soon as I hear back from Bunde.  He has been given the option to merge the accounts, switch citizenship to the Lola account (merge was also recommended so posts transfer), or just use the Lola one for RP/games (which is perfectly fine).

I am also changing the policy on multiple accounts.  If a player applies for citizenship with multiple accounts and no proxy is found to be used the application will be denied by the admin team as we still check for multiple accounts.  The player will be given the same options as Bunde was as well as a warning.  If they try to do the same again then a 1 year ban will be enforced on all the users accounts.  After the 1 year ban if the player still hasn't gotten the picture and again attempts to gain multiple accounts with citizenship a permanent forum ban will be enforced.

I will write this out and include it with wider moderation policy changes that will be announced at the beginning of the week.  A one week period will then lapse and the new policies will officially be used.

In case somebody thought about asking it this change will NOT change Liberatia's status on these forums.

I definitely concur with Hile's decision to unban Bundes/Lola and the kind of "Three Chances Law" set out henceforth. Liberatia's case would be an exception to this as he, or his brother, did have certain intent to overthrow the region.

However, perhaps the admin/mod team could use the formerly existing Three Warnings Law. By the way, the board watchers scheme that is included in there certainly does seem like a good idea, and perhaps we could implement that instead of having more admins and mods?

Dear God, I'm back on the forums and...this was certainly turbulent. Seeing this...

I still feel so guilty and stupid about this.
