<strong class='bbc'>Analysis: the North Pacific</strong>

<em class='bbc'>From the Pacific News Network</em>

The most recent government restructuring, or coup d’?tat (depending upon how one looks at it), in the North Pacific, should not be news to anyone. As is widely known, the democratically elected Delegate to the United Nations, Lewis and Clark, unilaterally decided to move the offices of government and declare the new Constitution null and void. For the North Pacific, this has become a common occurrence.

What is of interest in this scenario, however, is the level of commitment that the rogue Delegate and his allies have demonstrated. Gatesville and Equilism, among many others have moved large numbers of troops into the region in support of Lewis and Clark, knowing full well that such an operation must necessarily take months, at the every least, before their preferred candidate will have enough influence to govern with any sense of stability and unity. Already, new government offices of high caliber have been established, such as the House of Lords, government positions created and filled, i.e. the new High Council, and foreign affairs conducted on an impressive scale (if not with impressive quality). The regional message board, moreover, has been virtually "spam-free," if not free from bitter exchanges between opposing political factions.

<img src='http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/national-guard-1.jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>A corporal of the Gatesville Guard looks out for those deemed terrorists by the new regime.</em>

Nonetheless, the (former) regional heavyweights remain. Termed the "old guard" by their detractors, nations such as Great Bights Mum have long stood for the classical democratic, if cumbersome, North Pacific. These nations, due to their longevity and their continuous possession of large amounts of endorsements, have stood as bastions against tyranny and subversion, or change and progress, again, depending on the point of view. When Emperor Matthuis pulled off a similar stunt, he was unable to remain in power for any extended period both due ulterior motives and the position of these former greats.

<img src='http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/great_bights_mum.jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>The pirating leader of Great Bight’s Mum, striking out every so often at the new Crimson Order to restore her vision of a free and democratic North Pacific.</em>

The current Delegate, Lewis and Clark, seems relatively secure, at present, with the massive foreign aid he has received. Especially seeing as how no united front had arisen on the opposing side from regions abroad, the Delegate has every reason to believe that he might just survive these crucial months. Nonetheless, there have been some close calls. The evening of February 15th saw the endorsement difference between Lewis and Clark and Great Bights Mum drop to a mere eighteen nations (311-293). (Un)fortunately, a trend has emerged over the past few days whereby the Crimson Order has consolidated its lead, both through increased foreign assistance, increased communication with members of the United Nations in the North Pacific, and through the use of that ever popular big red ?BAN? button. Currently, the Delegate has 79 more endorsements than the opposition (335-256).

This relatively secure position was perhaps considered when the Crimson Order today declared that the state of war between the North Pacific and the Pacific had ended, and that the two regions would find themselves in peace after a mere day or two of official, if not actual, hostilities. What remains to be seen, however, is whether or not the opposition, or terrorists, as the Order calls them, will manage to remain united and secure increased foreign aid for their campaign. In the end, it may come down to a mere battle of patience. How many months are the allies of Lewis and Clark prepared to remain in the North Pacific? How many nations will those supporting Great Bights Mum throw into the fray for the sole purpose of reducing the Delegate?s influence? Will the North Pacific once again make a return to normalcy (whatever that means there, these days, is unknown by this editing staff), carried on the back of Great Bights Mum, again? Or will Lewis and Clark manage to maintain his position in a victory for those who have recently been clamoring loudly for change and conflict? It would seem as though an answer to these questions may not emerge for quite some time.

<strong class='bbc'>When Userites Attack, Pacifica Prevails</strong>

<em class='bbc'>Emperor Moo-Cows boots Sakaba from The Pacific and into The Rejected Realms</em>

The Pacific

22nd March, 2008

Once again, The Pacific is once again under attack from Brainless Userites wishing to take over The Pacific. And, once again, they are defeated and sent back to Kandarin's Locker, by means of Emperor Moo's boot. One of the leads of the latest attempt to seek the delegacy of The Pacific was Sakaba, a member of the region The Genesis Federation who tried joining The Pacific as a citizen. However, this deception was not sufficient, and was swiftly booted after attempting to take advantage of a glitch in NationStates. In a Nationstates First, The Pacific Post has managed to obtain EXCLUSIVE footage of the booting, <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF6-KMZKLOI'>here</a>.

After the booting, we managed to catch a quick comment from the Emperor: "Yes, the little twerp was a citizen, but we kind of noticed him trying to get endorsements, plus the sign on his back saying 'Not An Invader!' caused us a few suspicions. We will be putting Sakaba on trial for treason, since as a citizen he attempted to take over the Delegacy. Even though his attempt was obvious and poorly executed, there is no room for treason in Pacifica. Eww, I have userite on my boot. Get it off!!"

The Pacific Post then acquired an interview with Sakaba, who was sulking in some pitiful userite region. He has this to say: "We...we won't be defeated! *sniff*. We're gonna get Moo for this! *sniff**sniff*I...I....Oh go away! I wanna go to my room and listen to my collection of depressingly bad music. You don't understand me! No one understands me! I'm going to write in my LiveJournal now!"

Meanwhile, others attempted to make a fuss on the Regional Message Board of The Pacific, but a spirited attempt led by Senators and Citizens alike repelled the educationally deprived userites. Senator Chosen Men had a few choice words to say on the subject, whilst continuing to defend our beloved region: "The Pacific has always been a target for n00blets and wannabe raiders. This time of year is the hatching season and the urge...CAROPS! PUT SOME EFFORT INTO IT MAN! THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO GET UP AGAIN!!....ahem, the urge to get some attention and follow anyone who spouts about 'democracy' is quite strong. Take this example here." The good Senator then dragged a userite spammer from the throng."Notice how they continue to whine, even as I do this." The senator then punched the userite back into the throng, taking out a few companions on descent."It's quite sad, really The Userite men are more like our young children. Even our young Pacifican women show more fortitude and initiative than a spammer."

<img src='http://www.full-of-beans.net/boromir/ttt/ttt004.jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>Senator Chosen Men celebrates the cleansing of the RMB.</em>

"It is the duty of every Pacifican to visit the RMB and daily demonstrate our support for our region and our way of life," said Comrade Premier Moo. Fortunately, The True Pacific citizens remain strong and united, and through them, Pacifica Prevails!

Update from <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific

<strong class='bbc'>Comrade-Premier encourages greater Industry</strong>

After several quiet months in Pacifica, Comrade-Premier Moo-Cows-with-Guns has encouraged the beginning of a new, active era for NationStates' oldest region with his Initiative for Pacifican Industrialization. In a new chapter in its history, the Pacific has begun a vibrant new period with an updated senate and increasingly-active forum. Despite various recent poor attempts to unseat and discredit the legitimate Pacifican government, our region has defeated foreign speculation by increasing overall activity. With the rallying of a rejuvenated Francoist Party, the Pacific is again ready to combat its enemies and defend its illustrious history.

<strong class='bbc'>Initiative for Pacifican Industrialization</strong>

Comrades!

Little over four and a half years ago a great movement swept through our homeland. As it surged forward it found the tired, the hungry, the impoverished and the disillusioned, turning them into proud and active Pacificans; reinvigorating them and pushing them to become all that they could be. Within a generation, the dull and suppressed Pacific had become the frontier of cultural, intellectual, philosophical and political thought. This was a time of revolutionary upheaval and change, with new concepts and ideas establishing themselves daily to replace and improve: to prosper. But throughout, there was one constant. This was not a movement of one man, but a mass movement: a class awaking from its slumber to create a new world.

Today we stand on the rich soil inherited from this mass movement, and as we look forward to the advances we will be making within our own generation we must recognize and take on the example set for us by our forefathers. Once again we must rise up and become not just a region or a government, but a mass movement. Once again we must sweep through our homeland, finding the tired, the hungry, the impoverished and the disillusioned, and bringing them into the Revolution, where both they and Pacifica will reap the benefits.

With the new ideas and enthusiasm of youth, merged with the lessons and achievements of history, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. It is through this new movement that we will see our industrial revolution flourish and maintain the Pacific as the premier region in the world. But mass movements do not build themselves. And so we come to the Initiative for Pacifican Industry. It is the duty of every Pacifican to build the movement by recruiting new comrades into the state apparatus of our Great Society, where together we can advance towards heights of which our forefathers only have dreamed. Every Party Member and every Senator must send recruitment telegrams as part of his/her contribution to Mother Pacifica.

As we move forward, some Party Members will be called upon for greater service. In this vein, two new Senators have stepped up to answer Pacifica's call: Senator Krulltopia and Senator Hauxland. Let me introduce you to the full Senate:

Quote:Moo-Cows with Guns, Delegate and Premier of The Pacific

The Senate:

Chosen Men, Senator of Pacifican Security

Haor Chall, Senator of Diplomacy

Gaspoinia, Senator of Administration

Risellia, Senator of Pacifican Culture

Krulltopia, Senator of Information

Hauxland, Senator of Justice
To promote our revitalization efforts and the industrialization of the region, I have appointed Senator Haor Chall as Droog for Foreign Affairs and Ambassadors, and Senator Hauxland as Droog for Internal Affairs. The Droogs will spearhead the efforts to bolster and increase the momentum of The Pacific in this exciting time. It will fall to them to ensure that production is steady and all Party Members are pulling their weight. They have the unenviable task of managing the day-to-day operations of this forum. Let their appointment be a sign of the commitment of The Pacific to both its great legacy and its greater future.

The Pacific has made history for over four years; we can continue to so. The Pacific is the First Feeder with a unique and peerless position. We are the mass movement needed to see our industrial revolution flourish and be the light amidst the chaos of the rest of NationStates as we have always been. Just as The Pacific was the foundation upon which all of NationStates was built, it will also be the firmament upon which a new age is brought into being. Others have quieted and others have floundered in vain quests for power, but The Pacific alone has such a consistent and unique legacy of leadership among regions. It is we -the old and the new members of The Pacific- who must join together to reap the fruit of our toils and make this harvest one of the best this region and NationStates has ever seen.

Hail Pacifica!

Comrade Premier Moo-cows with guns

Delegate

<strong class='bbc'>Office of Party Affairs</strong>

The entrance halls of the Pacifican Party have echoed to the sound of many footsteps as many citizens of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific sign up to become Party Members. The recruitment centre has been buzzing with activity as telegrams are sent out to the nations of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific. Special notice must go to Comrade Limitless Events for his stalwart work in telegramming nations.

Commandante Limitless Events has created an excellent map for <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific, which can be found <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=716'>here</a>.

<strong class='bbc'>Pacificans retake RMB</strong>

Attempts by insurgents and foreign infiltrators to usurp the Pacific's Civil Headquarters have failed, with loyal Pacifican citizens banishing spam from our region. In a renewed effort, Pacific residents have successfully refuted and removed the annoyance caused by such intrusions. This is yet another sign of the renewed power of the Pacifican people, our Senate, and our Delegate.

<strong class='bbc'>A Feederite Foreign Policy</strong>

International Affairs Announcement from <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific

As part of the ever onward march of the great Pacifican nation, first of feeders and oldest of regions, a revitalisation of our foreign policy is necessary. The foreign policy of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific should espouse the precepts of Francoism; that the greatest threats to Pacifica, the one great bastion of the feederites, are the userite regions whose purpose is antithetical to our own. However, over the years there have been occasions when the aspirations and aims of both <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and userite regions have been intertwined and there have been treaties between <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and userite regions.

Today, however, marks a return to this fundamental of Francoist thought. We hereby formally announce the cancelling of our treaties with the regions of Great Britain And Ireland, Taijitu and Catlandatopia. Though we wish our relationship with them to remain cordial, friendly and open, we no longer intend to remain tied by treaty to userite regions. The one exception to this policy shall remain relations between <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and the region of Gatesville. <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and Gatesville have a long standing history of friendship and unity, the longest of all regions. The shared interests of our regions have kept them together through years of different challenges and events, in no small part due to the good relations always held between the Delegates of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and Gates, the founder of Gatesville.

We also mark the importance to us of our fellow feeder regions. It is a key principle of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific, that even though other feeders may remain unenlightened as to Francoism, that we shall seek to protect their sovereignty and freedom from the thraldom of userite domination. It is for this reason that we have concluded a mutual defence pact with The South Pacific and that we seek closer friendship in The East and The West. We welcome the ties we hold with all our fellow feederite brethren and seek to maintain friendly relations with them all.

In a groundbreaking move, the bastion of democracy that is The West Pacific has taken its quest for the tyranny of the majority a step further tonight by voting to vote on voting. This is the next step in modern democracies; before every election there must first be a vote on whether to have the vote.

"Of course this makes sense," said Senator Freedom & Pride, the maker of the motion of this vote. "Why hold a vote if a majority doesn't want to vote? That would be just silly."

This latest foray into the world of democracy has some TWPers tearing out their hair. Darkesia, who also has lived in the bucolic democracy-free tyranny that is <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific, was heard to say, "Now you know why I often long for the comforts of TP again."

Buuyo, a resident of TWP, was heard to say, "Who knows where this will end? Soon we will be voting on voting to vote. And it could lead to even more votes so that we are voting to have a discussion and voting to debate and then all the forum will be is just vote threads. It will be madness, just madness!!"

Buuyo was so distraught that he ran into a cave and threatened to stay inside until "the democracy stops. I'm going to call for a vote of no confidence in Lots of Ants and then take over and revive the Sith!" Buuyo was last seen babbling and drooling, another victim of democracy allowed to run amuck.

<strong class='bbc'>News from <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific: The Pacific Army targets adspam violator region</strong>

The Pacific Army has successfully conquered the region of Underwater Rifts after a recruiter from the userite region had repeatedly posted adspam in violation of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific's 8 line rule. <strong class='bbc'>The Future Starts Now</strong>

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.

In this declining age of NationStates, many floundering regions are merely repeating themselves. A call for reform fails and is replaced by another hollow policy that produces nothing.

<em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific? The First Feeder?has different goals.

<em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific today unveils an evolution of the fusion of Francoist and Feederite philosophy. <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific today moves forward with a clear purpose in muddled times and a lean effective leadership in days of meaningless alliances and pointless associations.

As we once led NationStates with the NPO and the PRP, the First Feeder will adapt and continue its peerless legacy under the banner of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific; an aggressive champion of Feederite regions true to the roots of Francoism. <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific will continue in embracing growth and feeder prosperity as its key principles.

The Senate of The Pacific, a great and august body, has been disbanded. A carefully chosen triumvirate of Commissars will now oversee the agenda of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific at the direction of our illustrious Premier. The government of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific will be opened to an unprecedented level to better serve the needs of our Feederite cause.

Already, the sword of Pacifica has struck out against and toppled a desperate userite region that did not have the sense to follow the rules of <em class='bbc'>The Pacific</em>. The First Feeder will not stand idly when we are threatened and we have already demonstrated that our capacity continues to grow. Our evolution and rededication to our core principles will only redouble our strength and our growth.

A new day dawns for the First Feeder; a day in which <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific will choose its friends carefully and assert its full and natural right in the world of NationStates.

The future starts today.

Hail Pacifica!

Hail the First Feeder!

Update from <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific

17/10/2008

<strong class='bbc'>The Pacific Army completes successful operations in BLH Productions and the Genesis Federation</strong>

The Pacific Army has undertake two missions in the last couple of weeks, successfully taking the region of BLH Productions last weekend and taking the Genesis Federation this weekend. The Genesis Federation was a region which had declared "war" on <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific. The daring soldiers of the Pacific Army, led by Commandante Wild Bill Hiccup, achieved victory in the Genesis Federation, despite the unexpected intervention of a number of userite defenders from the FRA and the resurrection of the Founder nation. The actions of the Pacific Army serve as a reminder than all those who oppose <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific shall be crushed.

<strong class='bbc'>The People's Congress is opened</strong>

The People's Congress has been opened for all Party Members. The People's Congress has been set up to allow Party Members an institution for discussion and debate on Pacifican affairs. The first election for the Congress Chairman is already underway. Along with the Congress, the Pacifican Reward Points system has been developed. This awards points and medals to Party Members for their service to Pacifica. A number of positions, including the PNN Editor, have been created that will be given to Party Members who show sufficient industry through the new system. Full details of the People's Congress can be found <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showforum=121'>here</a>

<strong class='bbc'>Azure Alliance</strong>

<em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific is a member of the Azure Alliance, a new defense agreement between a number of the feeders and the region Taijitu. Currently only The Pacific and The North Pacific are members, with both The South Pacific and Taijitu still going through the process of ratifying the treaty.

The Party halls have been buzzing with new applicants as more comrades arrive in Pacifica. Most have been swiftly inducted into the Pacific Army, where they can serve <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific on the frontlines of the struggle against userite aggression. <strong class='bbc'>The First Pacific Constitutional Convention</strong>

<img src='http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2592/churchwq2.jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>Loyal Pacificans gather to hear the announcement by The Senate.</em>

Changes are once again afoot in The Pacific. After months of battling numerous yet ineffective attempts to seize the delgacy, the Pacific has managed to rise above those who wish to drag her down, and has made steps towards a new era. In an unprecedented move, The Senate has announced The Pacific's first "Constitutional Convention", and the introduction of the Senator of The People:

Quote:The Pacific is the oldest region in the NationStates world. It has the grandest history, the biggest controversies, the greatest heroes and the vilest villains. This world is entering its twilight and in light of that change even the oldest of institutions must face the inevitability of change. The Pacific Senate has stood as an institution of pride, honor and strength for over half a decade. It stood for the Order, which is far from new, and it stood for the Republic, which faded because of its inability to adapt, and it has stood throughout the latest Diaspora, which has seen some of the greatest lights of this world cross into shadow.

And it stands today. Ready to lead, ready to serve, ready to adapt. And adapt it will. Today we announce a measure unprecedented in the history of The Pacific. Today we announce the creation of the first Constitutional Convention of The Pacific. The only requirement for admittance into the Convention is a nation in The Pacific. WA nations are preferred but we understand the necessary draws of WA issues abroad. The Convention will begin once a modest number of nations join the forum and seek to take part. Once the Convention establishes a Constitution for the region including a Code of Law and a Bill of Rights it will convert into the new Assembly of The Pacific.

The Pacifican Assembly will elect its own leadership, establish its own committees and control the functional aspects of justice for the region. The President of the Assembly will serve as the Senator of the People in the Pacific Senate and will have equal standing with all other Senators. The committees will have their rules and guidelines established by the Assembly and will serve to assist the Senate in various aspects of regional interior, diplomacy, security and justice.

To assist in this endeavor and in seeking to draw on the widest range of the Diaspora, the Pacific Senate invites all citizens of the NationStates world to send a nation into The Pacific, the region of your birth, in order to take part in this new age of the oldest region.

To facilitate this growth the Pacific Senate has been reconstituted as follows:

Pierconium, Senator of Justice and Pacifican Security

Krulltopia, Senator of Diplomacy and Pacifican Imperialism

Risellia, Senator of Culture and Pacifican Heritage

Doppelganger, Senator of Intelligence and Pacifican Purity

"How dare this inbred degenerate even <strong class='bbc'>think</strong> of attempting to push this piece of trash through the world assembly! I shall argue most vehemently against it!!" However, Krulltopia's impassioned speech to the gathered representatives of the World Assembly fell on deaf ears, as hordes of userites rushed forward in order to "pet the cute bunny rabbit". The distinguished Pacifican delegate barely got away.

In barely restrained anger, the Imperial Bunny Overlord began to order the dreaded hordes of the Pacific Army to assemble and lay waste to all those regions which supported the proposal.

<img src='http://cdn1.gamepro.com/blogfaction/images/lepus(2).jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>The Mighty Pacific Army charges forth in defence of its master.</em>

However, fortunately for the entirety of NS, but unfortunately for the oppressed masses, the proposal never got through it's approval stages. Some nations are appalled at this, and refused to support a vicious, unfettered dictator such as Krulltopia:

"He can't ban me!!" Foamed Le Saintes "Down with Krulltopia! He has no power over us and cannot harm us in anyway, so we must fight!!"

The fact that, shortly afterwards, le Saintes was seen flying downwards into the Rejected Realms has been dismissed as a 'coincidence'.

<strong class='bbc'>Culture Office</strong>

This area has seen a flurry of activity recently. With the introduction of Regional flags, a <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1605'>regional flag competition</a> has been set up, which will enter its final voting soon. Meanwhile, the Current regional flag is one made by Thel D'ran, which was originally requested by a Pacifican but is now in use as a placeholder.

The re-opening of The Hall of the Great Harvest has been well received, and the introduction of the <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1568'>Pacifican Book Club</a> has also seen some interest.

<strong class='bbc'>The Hall of Shame</strong>

The Delegate has continued to exercise a zero tolerance policy on regional advertising violators, which has resulted in the formation of the <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1606'>Hall of Shame</a>, a forum where those that have broken any of the Pacific's rules can apologise to the region as a whole and face questioning from Pacificans. The RMB itself remains active due to the actions of loyal Pacificans.

<strong class='bbc'>Greater stance in the WA</strong>

Delegate Krulltopia has put forward to The Pacific the idea of taking a more prominent stance in the affairs of the world assembly. Although this is in the early stages of development, it has been well received by Pacificans new and old, so expect to see more developments on this in the future.

<strong class='bbc'>International Affairs</strong>

The Pacific is once again making it's mark in Inter-regional affairs, and the Commissariat of International Affairs is once again bustling due to an initiative led by Delegate Krulltopia. Expect to see new embassies being opened and more regular updates.

<strong class='bbc'>Recruiting</strong>

The Pacific has seen a surge in new recruits due to the tireless actions of new Senator Rothinzil. These new members have quickly settled in and started contributing to the greatness of The Pacific.

<strong class='bbc'>The Pacific</strong>

<strong class='bbc'>Delegate: </strong>Krulltopia

Welcome to the newest update from The Pacific.

<strong class='bbc'> The introduction of Honorary Pacifican citizenship</strong>

The Pacific has usually accepted membership only from those with a WA in The Pacific that is endorsing the delegate. Recently, Krulltopia announced the creation of <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1660'>Honorary Citizenship</a>:

Quote:In the past, there have been members of this region who have been allowed into The Pacific without their WA residing here. It has been a rare occurrence, but those who have done so tended to serve Pacifica well.

Therefore, I am officially introducing the Honorary Pacifican form of Citizenship .

This distinction from 'normal' Pacificans is only due to masking purposes: those who apply for this will be just as able to participate in all departments and join in the discussions. The only areas where they cannot participate for logical reasons are the WA voting section, where their votes will not be counted, and joining the Pacific Army. However, these are subject to change, and if enough demand is had either the Foreign Legion will be re-introduced, or these Honorary Pacificans will be allowed full Pacifican status.

This is a test run, so see if there are those willing to contribute to Pacifica. As usual, those who abuse this trust placed in them will be dealt with appropriately.

Hail The Pacific!

<img src='http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/115/2962329jpg.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />
Those wishing to apply can do so by following <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=304&view=findpost&p=14310'>these instructions.</a>

<strong class='bbc'>New Appointments</strong>

With the introduction of the Hall of Shame, the Praetorian Guard is needed by Pacifica more than ever. Therefore, Krulltopia made the following <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1636'>appointment</a>:

Quote:For a time, the Praetorian Guard has been inactive, no longer the defence against Code violators and usurpers that is used to be.

Now, it has been brought back, and I proudly announce the promotion of Laws and Bylaws to the role of Grand Prefect of the Praetorian Guard.

Remember, it is the duty of all Pacificans to protect their home.

o/ Pacifica!

o/ The Praetorian Guard

<img src='http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/115/2962329jpg.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />
<strong class='bbc'>The Hall of Shame</strong>

The Hall of shame has been busy since it's introduction. Although the offer to apologise has been extended to a number of regions that have been punished by breaking The Pacific's rules, only two regions have bothered to take the offer, <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1620'>Vivified Vendetta Corp</a> and <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1632'>New Sorvun</a>. After a few false starts, the apologies provided by both regions have been accepted and the recruiters have been unbanned.

<strong class='bbc'>Greater stance in the WA</strong>

Following on from Krulltopia's statement about the Pacific's increased stance in the World Assembly, a <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1655'>WA Committee</a>was formed, with the expressed intention to explore and utilise the World Assembly more thoroughly. Pacificans and Honorary Pacificans are strongly encouraged to join in. At time of writing, The Pacific is the only Feeder region to make a dedicated committee for the sole purpose of understanding the workings of the World Assembly.

<strong class='bbc'>International Affairs</strong>

Since the previous update, The Last Kingdom has requested an embassy, and has been accepted. The Pacific has now updated all those regions that it holds active embassies with, and is continuing to spread its influence throughout Nationstates.

<strong class='bbc'>OPERATION PHOENIX DOWN IS LAUNCHED</strong>

In Francograd, capital of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific, the Delegate Krulltopia has announced the commencement of Operation PHOENIX DOWN, a reform of a number of areas in <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific, concentrated on World Assembly affairs. The reforms have seen a widening in Pacifican participation in WA votes and changes in policy to a more activist position in influencing World Assembly and Security Council votes. In his closing statement the Delegate said, "As this is being written, a few of our fellow Feeders and Sinkers are in doubt. Are lost. We remain as a bastion of Order, and we need to bring the light into the World. So return to the shores of Pacifica, and embrace the new age. There is a role to be played for everyone, and the more of us that stand side by side, the easier it is for enemies to be driven back by our indomitable collective will."

AMBASSADORIAL PROGRAMME REBOOTED

Pacifican ambassadors are once more streaming out into the world, spreading the Word of Pacifica to regions far and wide. The main effort has been to the other feeders and game regions who have all been appointed new Ambassadors, whilst a few userite regions have received Pacifican Envoys.

PEOPLES PUPPET

The Peoples Puppet continues with the People having recently voted on the issue of "Put The "Board" Back In Board Of Education". A majority vote decided that the nation of Pacifican Spirit would enact option 3, "Corporal punishment would only treat a symptom of the bigger problem: our education system is in need of an overhaul," says Bill Christmas, Pacifican Spirit's education minister. "We need smaller class sizes, more teachers, better buildings, and better pay. It'll cost, but it'll pay off in the long run."

Currently under discussion is whether people should be able to "Buy a Better Baby".

The Peoples Puppet nation can be found <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.nationstates.net/pacifican_spirit'>here</a>.

iNTERNATIONAL cAPS lOCK dAY

And finally, <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific recently celebrated International Caps Lock Day. We'll spare you the gory capitalization, but rest assured that a good time was had by all... except Krulltopia: "look, I know this is amusing, but please don't post on the RMB like this, you are making my eyes bleed."

<strong class='bbc'>Newsflash: Terrorists threaten <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific</strong>

Today, Krulltopia, Delegate of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific has revealed that State Security recently foiled a terrorist plot in Francograd. Believed to be acting on orders from the userites of Grand Central, the terrorists were attempting to attack the Delegate as he made his way to address the People?s Congress. Exact details of the plot have not been released, except that the terrorists had been caught and ?deleted? by State Security.

Grand Central, the userite region behind the terrorist plot, is also believed to be the source of recent attempts at sedition in <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific. The unprovoked attacks on Pacifican sovereignty by these userites have no support from true Pacificans, all of whom can readily see through the lies of userite spies. The New Pacific Order provides for the stability, security and prosperity of the Pacifican people, whilst the userites who attempt to subvert <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific with their treachery are driven only by narrow greed and a desire to use the resources of The Pacific for their own malevolent ends.

All Pacificans are reminded to be alert for spies and traitors and to report any suspicious activity or messages.

<strong class='bbc'>The Pacifican Army Calls For Volunteers</strong>

<img src='http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y130/HaorChall/v21_18942283.jpg' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' />

<em class='bbc'>The Army marches through Victory Square in Francograd</em>

Late yesterday afternoon the streets of Francograd reverberated to the sound of a thousand Pacifican jackboots, as the newly reinstated Pacific Army marched through the capital of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific. For a long time the peace has been kept by the militias, without the need for a standing army. But, times have changed and once more the userite hordes threaten the Pacifican Ideal. With the threat of war against the motherland, the militas are not sufficient and once again, the citizens of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific must take up arms to defend their region from those who threaten her.

It has not taken long for the Pacific Army to be reformed, long-term contingency plans were enacted by the Senate overnight and the fires of Pacifican industries almost immediately turned to a war production footing. Weapons, armour and vehicles are coming from the production lines as even those citizens who do not join the Army fight for <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific with their industriousness.

As the parade reached Victory Square, the troops halted. The bayonets of the massed ranks of Pacifican soldiers shone in the afternoon sun, as the Pacifican soldiers stood to attention under fluttering banners of the red and black. Krulltopia, Delegate of <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific and Emperor of the New Pacific Order, then addressed them, praising their dedication to the Pacifican cause and reminding them all of the treacherous nature of the userite foe. <em class='bbc'>The</em> Pacific had done nothing, he said, to provoke the attacks against us, these enemies attack us out of hatred and treachery. He put the call out for more volunteers, calling on all Pacificans to serve the motherland and defend her from the unwarranted userite aggression.

Citizens of The Pacific are directed to the <a class='bbc_url' href='http://ns.pacificorder.net/forum/index.php?showforum=168'>People's Bastion</a> in Francograd to sign up for military service. All Pacificans, whether military or civilian, are reminded to be alert for spies and traitors and to report any suspicious activity or messages.
