Z-Day Timeline of Events
#1
I love TNP's timeline of events (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...sp=sharing)

and while the days are still fresh, I'd like to build our own timeline here!

I missed the first 4 or so hours due to my inability to tell time so what happened in those first few hours?

It was a little chaotic! To say the least.

The rmb was active with confusion, people trying to convince others what to do while trying to decide when updates were. Turned out to be on the hour marks.

Then it was realized that we were able to gain super weapons. That's when the first bit of coordination began to happen, although this too became utter chaos lol. People curing people and attacking them, killing undead also. It took a little bit to get people on the same page of how to cure the most effective way. During all this time Bels just stewed around and abandoned us! :p

Here is a draft of Z-day apocalypse events. Particular nation names have been left out for the most part. There's still a ton of stuff to add especially detials.

Timeline

-          10/27/2013 -> nations began debating whether to choose military extermination, research, join the zombies, or flee the region during the impending zombie apocalypse on the RMB.  The delegate send a TG that anyone embracing the zombies would be executed, however he admitted that his own plans were top secret.

-          10/30/2013 -> The zombie apocalypse began. Drugged Monkeys and Kringalia encouraged research as did several other nations while the first zombie horder nations began to move into TSP to increase the spread of the infection. This is when we realized that we might need military squads if only to eliminate the nations coming from outside TSP borders with malicious intent.

-          TSP rates of infection at the outset are extremely high as expected from the second largest region in NS. The general consensus remains that research is the best option and extermination should be targeted towards zombie embracing nations.

-          The delegate enters an RP, converting the WFE into a zombie bunker station that has mysteriously been overrun.  TSP residents begin to realize that the delegate has embraced the zombies. Most zombie infectors breaking through TSP security target the delegate without realizing he is building a zombie empire.

-          Nations begin to send cure missiles and discover that the onslaught of infection can be staved off.  Drugged Monkeys, Farengeto, QuietDad, Theorin and Kringalia are leading cure missile producers. Nations in need begin to make requests on the RMB for help and are quickly helped by many others working together.

-          More nations begin to attack, targeting the curers and others step up to stop them.  At this point the tactic against horders is to send cure missiles or hordes in order to stop them from using superweapons for three minutes.

-          The regional pass code was leaked early on allowing more and more horders to enter TSP and attempt to destroy the nations focusing on researching the cure.  Leakers include: Typhlachtas and Torisakia who also turn out to be horders.

-          The number of nations requesting cures begins to skyrocket leaving the curers overwhelmed but soon new curers join the ranks.

-          Theorin first posits that nations with kill squads should target horders.  Sierra Lobo adds to the discussion that curing zombie embracers only prolongs conflict.  It begins to be clear that if all the population is dead in a nation it is out of the game.

-          Human Territories is the first kill squad leader to post about their efforts on the RMB. One of the targets: The Delegate of the South Pacific who is embracing the zombies.

-          At some point the system begins to break down as too many nations, including those curing, are being attacked by horders and are overwhelmed.

-          Northwest Slobovia enters the RMB as a curer and nations discuss why there is such a big difference in the number cured (or killed) when using superweapons.  Some posit that decisions based on issues and health care\science funding.

-          Certain horders become notorious for their quick strikes against nations sending out cure missiles. These include Midnight Science Fiction Feature, Grumpy Dog, JSUV Zombie Fleet. Several of these attackers went back to their region of Pelenonia.

-          Some nations begin to despair that the cure is not working and that extermination is the only option. Several others dissuade this option as it means killing humans who can be saved.

-          Nations begin to provide links on the RMB to nations who need to be cured or exterminated. The process becomes easier and better coordinated.

-          Another aspect of gameplay begind to be used\abused. Horders target curers to delay them from curing by 3 minutes at a time.

-          Some nations, requesting specifically that no military squads be used against their cure researching populations, are stunned when extermination squads are used again them. This brings their survival rate down to a level that can’t be recovered.

-          TSP drops down to #48 in number of survivors and things look bleak. Some nations say that saving the region is impossible and either leave or switch to extermination.

-          Other nations increase their efforts to cure each other and the most infections nations, relying on endorsement lists and the regional lists (sorted by length of residency) to focus on curing high zombie populations.  Kestral Blue assists in kill strikes against horders who run away only to keep returning under different guises.

-          At about ten hours, TSP is 84% infected with zombies and things look grim.

-          More coordinated efforts to cure the infected and kill horders take place.  Nations post their cure or kill targets and the rest join them, making the process go faster.

-          We learn that nation’s overrun with zombies start racking up deaths because the zombies are starving to death.

-          The delegate discovers that his nation’s zombies have been eliminated. He points out his other zombie horde nation and the tactical squads find a new target.

-          Some nations who were hording only hours ago decide to switch sides after nearly being exterminated. They are allowed to live but looked at with suspicion.  Curers see this as a victory, the tide is turning and the region’s infection rate is down.  TSP is now up to #24 on the Z-Day survivors tally.

-          With only ten minutes to go the residents of TSP go for a massive push, curing nations with 1 billion or more zombies.

-          As the last update of the apocalypse goes through TSP hits #22 on number of survivors.

Good draft Escade, when I was able to get on it was a very cool event. I was pleased to interact with a lot of TSPers and while our response to the Zed Plague was sometimes chaotic, it was effective once all those nations were working together.

CURE!
