The South Pacific Has Elections!

After the now infamous coup orchestrated by Milograd the delegacy was held by the honorable Brutland and Norden. Brutland had filled in as Delegate after Milograd's resignation a few months prior, and to nobody's surprise he once again performed admirably.

It was the wish of the region -- including Mr. Brutland -- that elections be held to determine Milograd's democratically elected successor. These elections had to be enabled via special legislation, as no provision of election law or the charter envisioned the concept of a special election.

 

The election was contested by three major contenders; Southern Bellz, Hileville, and Liberatia. Each candidate opened their own campaign thread and worked to convince the voters of their plans for the region. After a week of campaigning, the voters spoke in the initial vote:

 

 

Hileville / Penguin: 20 votes

Southern Bellz/ HEM: 16 votes

Liberatia/Torchwood: 6 votes

 

No ticket achieved the required 50% + 1 support required to become Delegate. Due to this, A runoff election was held with Liberatia eliminated from the contest.

 

 

Hileville / Penguin: 16 votes

Southern Bellz / HEM: 22 votes

 

The runoff election had a few less votes than the first poll, but both showed extraordinary voter turnout and participation. The razor close election led to Southern Bellz being elected -- once again -- as the South Pacific's delegate.

 

The South Pacific stands by Osiris; declares war on Gatesville

 

The South Pacific has had uneasy relations with Gatesville since their reincarnation as "Gatesville Inc." In a stunning and reckless move weeks ago, Gatesville took control of the democratic region of Osiris. 

 

Standing by our allies the South Pacific has sent all possible aid to Osiris and condemned Gatesville for their childish and petty coup de tat. While a previous diplomatic breakdown was soothed over by the diplomatically savvy former Delegate Brutland and Norden, The South Pacific has now entered a state of war with Gatesville in response to their needless aggression.
