TNP were impressively supportive during this. I think a formal recognition of that great friendship is appropriate personally.

I would go to sleep if I was tired but I am not. Your post was not a response to an earlier post from what I can see. It was a statement about finding out which guardians were supporting us.

That however wasn't the point of my post. Do we really care who was supporting us or not? TWP clearly wasn't as their Delegate recognized Milograd as the Legal Delegate. I personally don't care who did or did not support us. Lets get these things wrapped up in the next 72 hours. There really isn't much discussion needed on closing ties we are all in agreement with that.

How's about this? Still needs sign off/official seals?

Statement by the Delegate and Cabinet of the South Pacific

As many of you will know, Milograd, TSP's delegate, went rogue in April 2013, and for a period of around two weeks conducted mass ejections of TSP natives, removed links to the offsite forums and created his own forum, trampled on our region's Charter, and generally acted in a way unbecoming of an elected delegate. Milograd is currently on trial for his actions, but as the regional government, we must consider the wider reaction to the coup. In most cases, support was whole-hearted and sincere; but this did not apply to all.

During the coup, The West Pacific decided to recognise 'the sitting delegate', and did not support the legitimate regional government, despite the recent rapprochement between our regions after the conclusion of the Devonitians Coup of 2011. It was very clear that TWP had no interest in helping a fellow feeder, and our region is disgusted and outraged at the behaviour of the region, and its delegate Westwind, as well as several of its so-called Guardians.

As such, based on the lack of support which our region recieved from The West Pacific against a delegate blatantly acting against the laws of the region and the interests of its natives, The South Pacific hereby closes all diplomatic relations with The West Pacific, sure that no region which truly wished to extend the hand of friendship to us would betray our region members in such a manner. Inter-feeder solidarity was tested and found sorely wanting in this crisis, and we shall act accordingly. We reached out to you after the issues of recent years, but as soon as there was an opportunity for cooperation, you betrayed us. We want nothing more to do with you.

Furthermore, in relation to their activities during the coup, the Guardian TAO and Darkesia are henceforth banished from our region, for their blatant support of a rogue delegate.

Conversely, the long-standing ban on Punk D is lifted, based on his own actions during the coup. Let it not be said that our region does not recognise those who aid us, rather than do us harm.

Signed;

B&N, Delegate
Hileville, Vice-Delegate
Antariel, Minister of Foreign Affairs
Belschaft, Chair of the Assembly
Drugged Monkeys, Minister of the Army
Topid, Minister of Regional Affairs

Obviously this needs sign off before posting.

Statement from the Cabinet of the South Pacific
in regards to Relations with The West Pacific

It is common knowledge that the relationship between the South Pacific and The West Pacific have been far form exemplary during the past few years. It is also known that the South Pacific has attempted to repair relationships several times over that period. It however became clear to us while Milograd was ejecting and banning natives from our region that our relationship with The West Pacific was far worse than what we had imagined. During that time period members of The West Pacific moved into our region to support Milograd in what can only be described as heinous actions. The most notable members being TAO and Darkesia.

The stance taken by The West Pacific is far from being a stance in which this Cabinet sees as friendly it is in fact a hostility towards our legitimate Government and our Great Region. Therefore the Cabinet unanimously orders the closure of the in-game and forum Embassies of The West Pacific. Furthermore the Cabinet orders the nation of TAO to be banned from the in-game region immediately. The Cabinet also notes that if TAO brings another nation into the South Pacific it is to be banned on site as is any nation controlled by Darkesia. The Cabinet believes that the intentions of TAO are to cause more trouble and harm to our region even after the heinous actions of Milograd.

I am still on the fence regarding TWP. Like TP, I am not in favor of destroying relations, but far less stridently. Banning TAO and Dark would give them another reason to hate us, and will harp on it like they did on our longstanding ban on PD.

Re: Ant's draft: We shouldn't use the same copy paste first paragraph for all three statements. They'll notice that. Tongue

Can whichever draft we use have something added to it like:

"Following the coup, The West Pacific's statement in our embassy chose to recognize the abandonment of our charter, the mass ejections of nations new and old, and the organized effort of a couple userite regions to back a delegate friendly to their UCRs as an "internal matter" while in the same statement feeling the need to call for end to a ban issued by our forum administrators for misconduct. While we remember the NationStates Republic and recall that a feeder abandoning its sovereignty to UCRs is a customary practice in some feeders, The West Pacific was well aware that The South Pacific would not consider the large influx of userite WAs to back this delegate was not an "internal matter" to us."

I like throwing the NSRepublic in their face cuz they don't want us to remember that it existed. Tongue

The ban on PD had nothing to do with their actions. It was an excuse. TWP made it very clear that they have no intentions to be friendly towards us. The thread in Equilism by their delegate and the actions of Dark and TAO speak for themselves. I don't see any other way of going about further relations with them.

Statement from the Cabinet of The South Pacific
in regards to Relations with The West Pacific

It is common knowledge that the relationship between The South Pacific and The West Pacific have been far form exemplary during the past few years. It is also publicly known that the South Pacific has attempted to repair relationships several times over that period, having instigated on multiple occasions peace talks in 2011 to end the war The West Pacific started and pursued against us. It has however became clear to us that despite our best efforts, and private and public assurances to the contrary from The West Pacific, no real progress has been made since 2011. At the first opportunity when The South Pacific appeared vulnerable the real opinions and beliefs of The West Pacific became clear.

As many of you will know, Milograd, The South Pacific's Delegate, went rogue in April 2013, and for a period of eleven days conducted mass purges of TSP natives, unilaterally declared all laws void, and began a process of importing masses of UCR nations to replace the GCR community he was attempting to destroy

During the coup The West Pacific's government actively and directly supported Milograd and his 'South Pacific Social Republic', despite transparent attempts to claim neutrality. Their statement in our embassy chose to recognize Milograd's regime and actions as legitimate. The West Pacific described the coup as an "internal matter", while at the same time numerous prominent members of their government moved into The South Pacific to endorse Milograd and support his rule. While we understand that some may wish to abandon GCR independence and instead hand over control of a Pacific Region to UCR's - The NationStates Republic comes to mind - The West Pacific should have been well aware that the native community The South Pacific would not consider the mass importation of foreign WA's to prop up a tyrant delegate an "internal matter".

The blatantly hostile activities of The West Pacific will not be tolerated by The South Pacific. The actions of The West Pacific during Milograd's coup are not compatible with friendly relations, and nor are the continued hostility of The West Pacific towards our legitimate Government and the independence of our great region. Therefore the Cabinet unanimously orders the closure of the in-game and forum Embassies of The West Pacific. Furthermore, the Cabinet gives all agents and nations of The West Pacific, in particular those of TAO and Darkesia, twenty-four hours to depart from the region. The presence of hostile agents of a hostile government will not be tolerated in The South Pacific. Your continued and seditious attempts to undermine the region, and active efforts in spreading falsehoods regarding The Coalition, have not gone unnoticed.

You are not wanted here.

Quote:Having been over the thread in question in Eq, it is very clear that Westwind is at the very least misrepresenting himself. It would be good to find out who the two who opposed supporting Milo were.

Also, the fact that all but two TWP government people wanted to support Milo is, in my book, the problem.

provide more details please? I dont understand what westwind did?

Westwind deployed 'Westwinds Flying Circus' (his private army, like how CrazySedge used to have the RRA) to TSP. Equilsims government contacted the members of it who were Eq citizens to inform them that it went against Eq's policy and that they were deploying against the E-Army, so most of them left. WW then made a huge stink about it, and charged the government with treason and a bunch of other nonsense.

TAO has tg'd me stating he is willing to apply for citizenship and by doing so agree to the terms and provisions of our laws. He stated he doesn't want to leave as he is starting to like it here.

I am not going to respond until I hear from the Cabinet.
